Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for a hybrid position based in one of several offices across the western U.S., including Seattle. You will manage diverse projects in energy, healthcare, data centers, and DER, delivering innovative and compliant electrical designs from concept to completion.

The role requires a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, 8 years of design experience, and strong knowledge of tools like Revit and SKM Power Tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
• 8 years of experience in electrical engineering design preferred.
• PE registration is strongly preferred or Engineering in Training with path to obtain a PE.

Responsibilities

• Documents project correspondence, issues, decisions and directions.
• Defines, communicates, and manages scope, design intent, and design process for supervisor review.
• Leads electrical systems design, power distribution, and load calculations including generator studies and NEC-compliant design.
• Coordinates with AHJs for submittal and permit questions.
