Raytheon in Portsmouth, Rhode Island is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Common CAS hardware team within the PCAS organization. This onsite role focuses on design, modeling, analysis, and documentation of mechanical systems for CAS hardware across the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and Program Management, applying DoD and aerospace experience to deliver innovative, affordable solutions while ensuring adherence to

Qualifications

• STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years in related field.
• Experience supporting or leading DoD or aerospace programs.
• Experience with mechanical design processes and generic design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design, modeling, analysis, and documentation of mechanical systems for CAS hardware.
• Support the development and technical execution of the Common CAS product line.
• Provide technical oversight and resolve engineering challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with teams across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management.
• Participate in resource planning, design reviews, manufacturing readiness, and integration activities.
• Communicate risks, progress, and technical status to leadership and program stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and product affordability efforts.
