RTX in Portsmouth, RI is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of Common CAS hardware within the PCAS organization. This onsite role requires collaboration across engineering and other functions to deliver innovative aerospace solutions.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree and 8+ years of experience, with DoD or aerospace program exposure, and hands-on CAD design. A DoD Secret security clearance is expected after day 1.

Competenze

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required.
• Experience with DoD or aerospace programs.
• Experience with mechanical design tools and engineering processes.

Mansioni

• Lead and contribute to the design, modeling, analysis, and documentation of mechanical systems for CAS hardware.
• Support the development and technical execution of the Common CAS product line.
• Provide technical oversight and resolve engineering challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with teams across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management.
• Participate in resource planning, design reviews, manufacturing readiness, and integration activities.
• Communicate risks, progress, and technical status to leadership and program stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and product affordability efforts.
