Job summary

Pike Industries, Inc., a CRH subsidiary and leading highway contractor in New England, seeks a Lead Mechanic - Equipment to service and repair heavy construction machinery. The role blends field travel with shop work, requires CDL is a plus, and emphasizes proactive maintenance and safety.

You will diagnose and troubleshoot dump trucks, pavers, reclaimers, milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers, and rollers, coordinating with the Equipment Manager and ensuring safety best practices

Qualifications

• CDL is a plus.
• Experience with heavy equipment maintenance and shop/field work.
• Must be able to plan maintenance and coordinate with Equipment Manager.

Responsibilities

• Travel to field jobsites and work in the shop as needed (CDL a plus).
• Plan work procedures and/or scheduling; arrange parts and PM services with Equipment Manager.
• Troubleshoot and maintain heavy equipment including dump trucks, pavers, reclaimers, milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers and rollers.
• Inspect equipment and discuss issues with superintendent, operator, or project manager.
• Promote safety best practices; ensure compliance with company policies; conduct safety trainings.

Lead Mechanic -Equipment

What you can expect

• $37.00/hour and up based on experience
• Annual increase potential

• OT after 8 hours

What you will do

• Travel in the field and jobsites and work in the shop as needed (CDL a plus)
• Plans work procedures (Scheduling) and/or possible solutions such as parts, PM service in conjunction with Equipment Manager
• Trouble shoot and maintain all types of heavy equipment including dump trucks, pavers, reclaim and milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers and rollers.
• Examines equipment and discusses with superintendent, operator, or project manager the nature and extent ofdamage or malfunction
• Ensure engagement of equipment team in all safety best practices, ensure compliance with all company policies and safety rules. Conduct safety training and toolbox talks
• Work closely with all equipment manufactures to keep up with new technology
