Job summary

Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. in Red Bank, NJ, seeks an experienced Meat Cutter to maintain quality standards and perform all aspects of meat cutting, including trimming, special orders, and price signage.

You will train and mentor other butchers and lead the meat team when leadership is absent, while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Flexibility for weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of meat and poultry and product origins sold locally.
• Ability to educate public on living conditions of animals.
• Excellent cutting skills to break products into sub-primal and retail cuts.

Responsibilities

• Maintains WFM GIG policies, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Performs all aspects of meat cutting including margin, shrink, and special orders.
• Cuts, platters, merchandises products with accurate signs and pricing.
• Trains and mentors other Butchers and Apprentices, including acting as Designated Instructor.
• Supervises Meat Team Members, Apprentice Butchers, and Butchers.
• Acts as point person in absence of Team Leadership.
• Assists Leadership with ordering and inventory management when absent.
• Delivers excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maintains clean, sanitary work and shopping environments per safety standards.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Reports safety hazards and violations promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
