Job summary

Whole Foods Market in New Jersey is seeking a Meat Cutter to expertly cut, prepare and display pork, beef, lamb and poultry. You will mentor trainees, maintain high quality standards and run the sampling program while delivering friendly, efficient service.

The role requires strong teamwork, safety compliance, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Prior WFM apprentice program or equivalent training is preferred.

Qualifications

• 14+ months of retail experience.
• Completion of Whole Foods Market Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• UK exceptions may apply.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises meat products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausages, oven-ready, cured meats).
• Checks product quality against WFM standards.
• Maintains sampling program and prevents spoilage.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling; handles phones and pages promptly.
