Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Material Project Manager for the Global Supply Chain team in Albuquerque, NM or San Diego, CA. You will execute material strategy, manage open purchase orders, resolve delays, and drive supplier accountability to meet program objectives.

This role partners with manufacturing, leads procurement, and drives risk mitigation, process improvements, and supplier negotiations. Travel may be required. A background in defense/aerospace is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA degree with 12–15 years or Master’s with 10–13 years in material project management
• Strong knowledge of supply chain systems and material procurement
• Excellent written and oral communications with customers and suppliers
• Self-starter with quick learning ability and independent work
• Able to collaborate and influence across multiple functions
• Experience in fast-paced on-site manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of risk management methodologies
• Proficient in MS Office
• Familiar with AS9100, FAR, ITAR, OFFSET, FCPA regulations
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of material strategy by managing open purchase orders and supplier accountability
• Interface with key suppliers, escalate risks, resolve performance issues, ensure contractual adherence
• Summarize program metrics and assist in data compilation for leaders
• Project management including requirements justification, planning, execution and evaluation
• Participate in procurements approvals and drive process improvements
• Propose sound and innovative business solutions to increase operational efficiencies
• Mitigate and resolve supply chain challenges to ensure on-time deliveries
• Facilitate supplier negotiations with cross-functional teams
• Drive execution of vision and goals for the supply chain team
• Engage in risk management and develop mitigation plans
