Job summary

Leidos, in San Diego, CA, seeks a Principal Material Project Manager to join the Global Supply Chain team. The role focuses on execution of material strategy, managing open purchase orders, resolving delays, and driving supplier accountability.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing and PMO to review requisitions, manage procurement from order to payment, assess risks, and improve processes. Travel may be required in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BA degree and 12–15 years of prior relevant experience in material project management, procurement, or supply chain execution.
• Strong knowledge of Supply Chain and related systems with material procurement.
• Requires strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Expert knowledge of industry practices and solutions to develop new standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of material strategy by managing open purchase orders and supplier accountability.
• Interface with key suppliers to escalate delivery risks and resolve performance issues.
• Provide summaries and aid in compilation of program metrics and data.
• Project management from requirements justification to planning, execution and evaluation.
• Support procurements and control accounts, manage procurements approval processes.
• Mitigate supply chain challenges and drive priority deliveries.
• Collaborate across functions to improve operational efficiencies.
