Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Material Project Manager in Huntsville, AL to lead material strategy across the program. You will manage open purchase orders, resolve delays, and drive supplier accountability while coordinating with manufacturing and program teams on compliance and cost objectives.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in defense/aerospace supply chains, AS9100 compliance, and demonstrated leadership. This on-site role may involve some travel and requires U.S.

Qualifications

• BA degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience in material project management, procurement, or supply chain execution within Defense, Aerospace, or high-complexity industries.
• Strong knowledge of Supply Chain and related systems along with material procurement.
• Requires strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to understand and facilitate complex supply chain decision-making.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills at all levels both internally and externally with customers and suppliers.
• Must be able to collaborate and effectively influence across multiple functions to achieve supply chain performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of material strategy across the program by managing open purchase orders, resolving delays, and driving supplier accountability.
• Act as the primary interface between Leidos and key suppliers, escalating delivery risks, resolving performance issues and ensuring adherence to contractual requirements.
• Provide summary data and aid in compilation of program metric data and statistics for senior leaders.
• Project management including requirements justification, planning, executing and evaluating the project.
• Mitigate and resolve supply chain challenges with priority deliveries and suppliers.
