Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Material Project Manager in Long Beach, MS to lead material strategy, manage open purchase orders, resolve delays, and drive supplier accountability. The role interfaces with manufacturing to review requisitions for clarity and compliance, and manages procurement from order through payment with travel as needed.

The position requires strong problem-solving, communications, and the ability to influence across functions in a fast-paced on-site environment.

Qualifications

BA degree with 12–15 years of experience or MS with 10–13 years.
Experience in material project management, procurement or SCM in defense, aerospace or high-complexity industries.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to understand complex supply chain decisions.
Excellent written and oral communications skills at all levels.
U.S. Citizenship is required and ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead execution of material strategy across the program by managing open purchase orders, resolving delays, and driving supplier accountability.
Act as the primary interface between Leidos and key suppliers, escalating delivery risks and ensuring contractual compliance.
Provide summary data and metrics; support procurement decisions across commodities like materials, hardware, and software.
Project management including requirements justification, planning, execution and evaluation of projects.
Mitigate and resolve supply chain challenges with priority deliveries and suppliers; promote agile problem-solving.
