Job summary

AvalonBay Communities is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician in Carrollton, TX to oversee maintenance of apartment homes and common areas, diagnosing and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other systems. You will mentor technicians, manage work orders, and ensure safety and high-quality work across the community.

The role requires 3+ years in maintenance, a valid driver's license, and HVAC/CFC certifications or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance issues.
• Repair and maintain apartment homes and common areas to keep units rent-ready.
• Assist with and organize work orders and maintenance tasks.
• Train and mentor junior maintenance staff.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on community assets.
• Inspect grounds and buildings daily for maintenance needs.
• Support safety culture and proper use of PPE and safety procedures.
