Job summary

JBS USA is seeking a Maintenance Lead for the 1st shift to direct hourly maintenance staff and ensure production efficiencies through planning, scheduling, and proactive maintenance. The role requires strong technical skills across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical systems and PLC/process controls.

Responsibilities include coaching, coordinating with the Operations Maintenance Manager, and enforcing safety and GMP policies while managing day-to-day maintenance activities and equipment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
• At least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
• Strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, industrial, PLC and HVAC experience.
• AAS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Must be able to motivate a diverse workforce and lead by example; coach, train, and take corrective action.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Good math skills.
• Well-organized with good attention to detail.
• Display strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Adaptable and dependable; follow direction and cooperate with others.
• Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a lead by training, mentoring, scheduling, and providing guidance to hourly Maintenance employees.
• Provides leadership through effective communication and coaching.
• Provides assistance and support as needed.
• Ensures a positive work environment exhibiting the company’s culture of respect for all employees.
• Motivates, corrects, and challenges personnel with a positive approach.
• Notifies Maintenance supervisor when problems arise.
• Maintains open dialogue with assigned team.
• Ensuring all company policies are followed.
• Supports Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electric equipment, PLC and Process Controls software.
• Leads equipment installations and preventative/predictive maintenance programs.
• Resolves maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
• Leads equipment installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and alignment/leveling.
• Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
• Understand and follow the company GMP policy.
• Understand and follow the company safety rules.
• May work long hours and weekends.
• May assume other duties as assigned.
