Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for our mining support client in Welkom. You will lead a skilled team of technicians, implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensure safe, compliant operations that maximise uptime of critical mining equipment.

The role requires a trade qualification or engineering diploma, 5+ years in industrial maintenance with at least 2 in supervision, and strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical/control

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial/mining maintenance.
• 2+ years in supervisory role.
• Proven leadership and team mentoring.
• Strong safety and regulatory knowledge in mining.
• Proficient with CMMS for maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct a team of maintenance technicians and artisans.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all plant and equipment in Welkom.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical failures, providing expert guidance to the team.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement to ensure availability of critical components.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development for maintenance staff.
• Oversee contractor activities when external specialists are engaged.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, analyze performance data, and generate reports for management.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and strategies.
