Placements24 client in Welkom seeks a Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee all electrical maintenance activities onsite and drive reliability improvements across equipment and systems.

You will develop proactive maintenance strategies, lead a skilled team of technicians, ensure safety compliance, and optimize maintenance budgets while supporting production targets and performance reporting.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation.
• Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and diagnostic tools.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a technical team.
• Excellent understanding of safety regulations and procedures in an industrial environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive electrical maintenance programs, including preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Lead, train, and supervise a team of electrical maintenance technicians, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Investigate electrical faults and failures, performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation.
• Collaborate with production and engineering departments to minimize equipment downtime and support operational goals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate performance reports.
