Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Sprague, CT to oversee daily operations in the maintenance shop and lead technicians in repair and upkeep of equipment essential to daily operations.

The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with 3–5 years of supervisory experience in fleet maintenance, plus strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3+ years of responsible leadership experience in management or supervisory roles.
• 3-5 years in fleet maintenance environment.
• CDL driver’s license desired.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proven management and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise maintenance work and repairs, monitor progress and quality.
• Review repairs and maintenance requests and prepare work orders.
• Coach, train, evaluate, and manage employee performance; conduct disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain clear communication with colleagues to maximize operations.
• Organize crews for major equipment overhauls and replacements.
• Support Preventative Maintenance program to keep equipment operational.
