Job summary

MeriCal in Ogden, UT is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep packaging equipment running, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot industrial systems to minimize downtime.

Minimum 3–7 years in a mechanical role with packaging equipment experience; strong ability to read manuals and pneumatic schematics; CMMS experience preferred. A safe, organized shop and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in a mechanical role, preferably with working knowledge of packaging equipment and basic maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, hazardous chemicals information, and safety decals in English.
• Ability to quickly identify issues and provide effective solutions.
• Basic understanding of reading pneumatic schematics.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance in industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Knowledge of both metric and standard measurement units.

Responsibilities

• Repair and troubleshoot packaging equipment to support production.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and perform repairs on industrial machinery.
• Use maintenance tools such as milling machines, bench grinders, air tools, hydraulics, belt sanders.
• Install and set up new machines or components and ensure proper operation before use in production.
• Maintain a clean, safe maintenance shop and follow safety procedures.
• Collaborate with other maintenance personnel, operators, or engineers to address production needs.
