Job summary

JE Dunn is seeking an Aptitude Superintendent 2 in Houston to manage complex low voltage projects, coordinating skilled trade partners, planning sequencing, and driving timely, profitable completion in alignment with JE Dunn’s strategy and values.

You will oversee safety, quality, and EEO programs while coordinating with owners, design teams, and subcontractors to deliver high‑end construction solutions on major projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience.
• 5+ years experience in Division 8/23/25/27/28 related systems.
• 3+ years field supervision experience.
• Healthcare experience.
• 5+ years experience managing projects.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May require periods of travel and/or relocation.
• Must be willing to work non‑traditional hours.
• Frequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling.
• Occasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen.

Responsibilities

• Leads all aspects of the safety culture and promotes injury‑free environment.
• Communicates with clients and project team; handles issue escalation for low voltage scopes.
• Coordinates design and construction efforts meeting standards.
• Manages staff, subcontractors, suppliers on safety, quality and EEO.
• Develops work plans for low voltage subcontractors and self‑performed work.
• Coordinates care and control of the low voltage scope of work.
• Creates and updates project schedule with Aptitude PM.
• Tracks budget and costs using cost reports and PM input.
• Shares project information with owners, design team, and authorities.
• Updates drawings, logs and inspection notebooks.
• Records unit costs for weekly reports and daily logs.
• Monitors progress of self‑perform work and adjusts as needed.
• Manages material and equipment needs for the project.
• Assists in selecting formwork, tools and equipment for LV systems.
• Coordinates with trades to install conduit, pathway and back‑box infrastructure prior to cabling.
• Ensures QA/QC through specs and in‑house/outside resources.
• Supports closeouts by coordinating pre‑punch with owner and authorities.
• Participates in new project pursuits and pre‑plans.
• Helps establish local workforce and budget impacts for changes.
• Prepares for project review meetings and monthly reviews.
• Understands owner/subcontractor contracts.
• Promotes diversity and inclusion per JE Dunn policy.
