Chico Area Recreation & Park District is seeking a lead lifeguard to mentor aquatic staff, oversee Pleasant Valley Pool and the upcoming Aquatics Center, and help run day-to-day operations.

The role emphasizes leadership, safety-first mindset, and flexible scheduling, with duties spanning training staff, supervising lifeguards and instructors, performing preventive lifeguarding, and handling incident reports.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in an aquatic setting.
• Two full seasons as lifeguard/swim instructor.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.

Responsabilités

• Supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and swim coaches.
• Provide preventative lifeguarding and patron surveillance.
• Enforce pool rules and respond to emergencies.
• Administer CPR and first aid to patrons.
• Develop, implement, and teach safety trainings, drills, and in-services.
• Complete administrative work such as incident reports and staff schedules.
• Coordinate staff coverage and replacements as needed.
• Serve as a liaison to the public and address questions and complaints.
