Job summary

Bend Park & Recreation District is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to provide leadership and supervision for aquatic programs and recreation facilities, primarily evenings and weekends.

You will supervise frontline staff, coordinate safety, and assist with program development and marketing. The role may include working as lifeguard or swim instructor as needed and supporting a positive, safety-focused environment for patrons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Two years of related work experience with at least one year in a lead role; or any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training.
• Lifeguard and safety certifications as listed; ability to teach full lesson spectrum.

Responsibilities

• Supervise aquatic programs and facilities ensuring quality, customer service and safety standards.
• Lead, direct and support front line aquatic staff.
• Communicate with staff, volunteers, coaches and patrons about program information and issues.
• Assist in planning, developing, marketing, implementing and evaluating aquatic programs.
• May work as Lifeguard or Swim Instructor as needed; may perform Recreation 1–3 duties.
• Maintain equipment, supplies and facilities; complete required reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety and risk management procedures.
