Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced structural engineer to own the hardware lifecycle for New Glenn’s second stage and payload accommodations. You will design, analyze, test, and qualify metallic and composite structures, creating 3D models, drawings, and test documentation while guiding manufacturing and integration teams.

You will work with cross-functional teams on materials selection, vendor coordination, and trade studies to ensure safety and performance in spaceflight missions.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in engineering and 8+ years of aerospace structures experience.
• Experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle structures and understanding of composite and metallic design fundamentals.
• Proficient with industry-standard analysis codes (ANSYS, Nastran, OptiStruct, LS-DYNA).

Responsibilities

• Lead full hardware lifecycle from requirements to integration on a launch vehicle.
• Design, analyze, test, and qualify metallic and composite structures.
• Create test plans and reports; support manufacturing, production and integration.
