Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Minimum of three years in a clinical lab, two within the assigned section.
• MT/MLS/MLT ASCP or AMT certification required.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Must have ability to learn/use computer software.
• Requires skill in obtaining lab specimens from all age groups.
• Follows Just Culture principles to ensure fair assessment of acts.
• Promotes a safety-conscious work environment and encourages reporting safety concerns.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate personnel, equipment, resources and testing procedures within the lab.
• Compile QA statistics and attend departmental meetings.
• Supervises training and regulatory compliance with CAP and Joint Commission standards; update procedures as regulations change.
• Complete competency assessments, revise proficiency testing, and participate in data entry for PT results.
• Research and provide technical support to physicians for guidance on laboratory testing and evaluate new technology.
• Assign additional duties as determined by the Laboratory Director.
