Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Longview, TX is seeking a Laboratory General Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the laboratory sections and shifts. Under the Laboratory Director/Manager, you will implement new procedures, monitor test quality, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising testing personnel, maintaining safety standards, training staff, managing inventories and equipment maintenance, and contributing to performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• 5 years of experience as Medical Technologist/ Clinical Laboratory Scientist/ Medical Laboratory Scientist/ Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Certification for MT/ MLS/ CLS/ MLT from ASCP/ AMT/ AAB/ HEW/HHS required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of laboratory sections and shifts.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, TJC, CAP, AABB, and other standards.
• Maintain and monitor quality control programs and performance reviews.
• Coordinate with Laboratory Director/Manager and provide staff training.
• Monitor test performance and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain equipment and oversee preventive maintenance.
