Job summary

The Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston is seeking a Supervising Laboratory Technician to lead daily lab operations, ensuring timely and accurate testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology and associated workflows.

Candidate must hold MT/ASCP or MLT/ASCP certification with five years of generalist lab experience and at least one year in Histology/Cytology, plus CLIA/CAP/JCAHO compliance knowledge.

Qualifications

• Five years of generalist clinical laboratory experience.
• 1 year Histology and Cytology experience REQUIRED.
• Degreed Medical Technologist/Technician with MT/ASCP or MLT/ASCP.
• Certification recognized by CLIA, CAP and JCAHO.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily lab activities to ensure prompt, efficient and accurate work.
• Maintains and updates technical procedure manuals.
• Assists in data collection for departmental reports.
• Ensures staff competencies are performed annually.
• Ensures compliance with JCAHO and CAP accreditation standards.
