Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Lead Laboratory Assistant on the 2nd shift to supervise daily Sample Management workflow and guide the team in the absence of a supervisor.

You will oversee equipment, LIS, middleware, and automation, coordinate tasks with production demands, train staff, and support CAPAs and deviations while ensuring compliance and safety. Strong Excel/Power BI skills and LIS experience required; on-site role with potential travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• 2 years in clinical laboratory assistant or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook and Power BI for data analysis and communication.
• Experience with LIS and middleware; ability to read SOPs and safety signage.
• Demonstrated leadership and training abilities; GMP awareness.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily Sample Management workflow and supervise staff in the supervisor's absence.
• Coordinate daily tasks to align with shift schedules and production demands.
• Serve as SME in SOP development, revisions, and related projects.
• Monitor LIS, middleware, and pre-analytic automation systems.
• Operate and maintain pre/post-analytic equipment.
• Oversee specimen processing and inventory management for reagents and disposables.
• Provide onboarding, training, and performance support to Sample Management personnel.
• Support CAPAs, deviations, validations, and compliance documentation.
