Octapharma Plasma, Inc. in Charlotte, NC seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist 1 to perform a full range of laboratory tests, manage specimen processing, and ensure test accuracy with QC/calibration oversight.

This role supports QA within OPI Laboratory Operations and may involve cross-training across testing areas. Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's in a laboratory science and meet CLIA requirements; ASCP certification (or eligibility) is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science or Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Must qualify as testing personnel in accordance with CLIA Regulations 493.1423.
• ASCP certification (or eligibility) strongly preferred.
• Ability to work diverse shifts and overtime hours as required.
• Proficient with computer software in an office and laboratory environment.
• Able to read, understand, write and follow SOPs and documentation clearly.

Responsibilities

• Process, evaluate and document initial training and competency assessment of other testing personnel.
• Write and revise testing, production, and validation protocols.
• Act as technical advisor for other testing personnel.
• Perform a full range of laboratory tests with little supervision.
• Responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting results.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and report to supervisor or director.
• May be cross-trained to various tests and sterility cultures.
• Operate complex precision instruments and highly automated equipment.
• Perform glycerolyzation and deglycerolyzation procedures for immunogen cells.
• Perform and document laboratory testing, QC, calibration and validation.
• Provide QA support to OPI Laboratory Operations.
