Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to support transit and multimodal projects. You will coordinate intelligent models across architecture, structures, roadways, and MEP into a federated, clash‑checked deliverable.

The role requires mentoring junior staff, enforcing BIM standards, and performing model health checks. Travel to various offices may be required; domestic and international exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination — coordinate deliverables into a single federated model across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP.
• Model coordination & clash detection — run clash detection in Navisworks and lead resolution across disciplines.
• Standards & governance — establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards, templates, and workflows across offices, built on the Autodesk stack.
• Mentorship & guidance — mentor production staff and provide design sketches for completion of drawings and layouts.
• Acts as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to ensure coordination between the design team.
• Crosscheck drawings for consistency with standards and guidelines.
• Provide general engineering support tasks, including plotting, transmittals, and file management.
