Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Des Moines, IA seeks a Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer to apply lean, data analytics, and engineering methods to raise safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth across operations.

You will lead CI projects, coach teams, map value streams, and facilitate Kaizen events, interfacing with management and front-line staff to drive sustained results. This role requires 7+ years in warehousing/transportation/manufacturing, strong MS Office, PowerBI/Tableau, and Six Sigma,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing.
• 7+ years of related experience in Warehousing/Transportation and/or Manufacturing.
• MS Office suite with emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio.
• Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and SQL experience.
• Lean Six Sigma certified; knowledge of PDCA, VSM, Kaizen.
• Core engineering/data analysis skills: slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and perform statistical analysis; map processes; identify gaps; develop CI plans.
• Lead high-impact CI projects across the operation and drive tangible metrics.
• Coach employees in CI, QA, and Lean principles; mentor teams.
• Possibly supervise CI engineers and participate in hiring decisions.
• Facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events; sustain results.
• Provide regular data reports and inventory/SC strategy recommendations.
