Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a senior Electrical/Controls engineer to lead I&C design on power projects across North America. You will oversee SCADA and PLC-based work, develop specs, coordinate with multiple teams, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety, constructability and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong technical leadership, extensive experience in instrumentation and controls, and a PE designation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
• At least 10 years’ experience in instrumentation and controls engineering and design; power generation experience preferred.
• Familiarity with control system programming concepts.
• Experience with SCADA systems and PLC; DCS experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as a lead or support engineer on multiple pursuits and projects for design, construction, equipment and operations of SCADA/I&C in power projects.
• Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques and criteria for projects of varying sizes and complexity.
• Incorporate RFPs and contract requirements to meet project goals.
• Contribute to client proposals and project cost estimates; lead feasibility and planning studies.
• Develop design calculations, drawings, and specifications; apply engineering standards and Kiewit guidelines.
• Draft technical specifications, evaluate bids, and interface with construction partners and suppliers.
• Coordinate design efforts with project staff; mentor entry and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on electrical/I&C concepts and concerns.
