Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering Group is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to lead I&C discipline work within a growing team. You will work on projects ranging from proposals to design execution and commissioning, collaborating with internal and external engineers and partners to deliver top-tier engineering and physical design.

Ideal candidates will provide technical expertise, mentorship for junior staff, and leadership in project execution, with a focus on safety,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical or Controls Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• PE registration preferred.
• Familiarity with control system programming concepts.
• Experience with SCADA systems and PLC; DCS experience desirable.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques and criteria for projects of varying complexity.
• Incorporate contract and customer requirements ensuring goals are met.
• Contribute to proposals and cost estimates; lead feasibility studies and coordination.
• Develop understanding of design methods, codes, and Kiewit guidelines for design calculations and drawings.
• Prepare technical specs, bid evaluations, and interface with construction partners.
• Schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with project personnel.
• Oversee supplier drawings review and contract administration.
• Mentor entry and mid-level staff, provide direction and coaching.
• Coordinate with internal/external partners to address I&C design concepts.
