Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Electrical/Controls Engineer to lead SCADA/I&C design for power facilities. This role can be based in Chattanooga, TN, or work remotely with a planned move to a hybrid arrangement.

You will mentor engineers and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and innovative solutions. You bring 10+ years in instrumentation and controls, an ABET-accredited degree, PE preferred, and strong communication skills to guide projects from concept

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
• At least 10 years’ experience in instrumentation and controls engineering and design; power generation experience preferred.
• Familiarity with control system programming concepts.
• Experience with SCADA systems and PLC; DCS experience desirable.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to mentor peers.

Responsibilities

• Act as a lead or support engineer on design, construction, or operations projects for SCADA/I&C in power facilities.
• Evaluate and apply engineering techniques and criteria for projects of varying sizes and complexity.
• Incorporate contract requirements and customer RFPs to meet goals.
• Develop client proposals, cost estimates, and lead feasibility and planning studies.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications in line with Kiewit standards.
• Prepare technical specifications and bid evaluations for equipment and contracts.
• Mentor and direct work of entry and mid-level engineers; review progress and provide coaching.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties to address electrical/I&C design concepts and concerns.
