Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an Assistant Chief Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for a highly visible leadership path. You will balance governance, risk management, QMS stewardship and innovation with hands-on project execution on conventional power generation and related systems.

The role advances enterprise I&C execution standards, promotes scalable design reuse, and leverages AI-enabled workflows to improve quality and efficiency while mentoring engineers and shaping technical

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Engineer of Record requirements.
Minimum 11 years related work experience.
Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams.
Active engineering registration or licensure.

Responsibilities

Provide senior technical consultation on complex engineering challenges, standards interpretation, execution issues, design quality, project technical decision‑making, and systemic risks affecting quality, safety, constructability, schedule, cost, or client confidence.
Develop, maintain, and deploy discipline standards, including guides, specifications, procedures, templates, calculation methods, and execution tools, and translate lessons learned into practical project execution improvements.
Develop onboarding, technical training, mentoring programs, reference materials, lessons learned, and knowledge management resources that accelerate readiness for I&C work and strengthen future technical leadership depth.
Advance responsible use of AI, automation, digital engineering, reusable design content, and data‑driven solutions to improve I&C execution quality, consistency, productivity, and client outcomes.
Serve as Lead I&C Engineer on power generation projects, leading teams through planning, design, procurement support, construction support, home office startup and commissioning support, and closeout.
Support pursuits and project reviews by evaluating I&C scope, staffing strategy, subcontracting assumptions, execution risks, hours, deliverables, and technical commitments.
