Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering Group is seeking an experienced-level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our growing team in the Power district. You will provide I&C discipline expertise and lead the I&C team for design, execution, and commissioning support on projects.

You will work with internal and external engineers and construction partners on proposals, estimating, technical design, and field execution to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university.
• PE registration preferred
• Familiarity with control system programming concepts
• Experience with SCADA systems and PLC; DCS experience desirable
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Attention to detail and strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for projects of all sizes and levels of complexity.
• Incorporate contract and customer RFPs, PSAs, or other requirements to meet project goals.
• Contribute to client proposals and project cost estimates; lead cost, feasibility, and planning studies and coordinate with other engineers.
• Develop and apply understanding of design methods, codes, and guidelines to prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepare technical specifications, perform bid evaluations, and coordinate with construction partners and suppliers.
• Schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with project personnel.
• Perform shop drawing reviews and contract administration.
• Mentor and direct entry/mid-level staff for skills development.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to address electrical/I&C concepts and concerns.
