Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in Wilmington, DE. You will contribute to design, modification, and digital modernization of plant controls across BWR/PWR projects, leading technical decisions and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

This role emphasizes hands-on design, calculations, and documentation for safety‑critical systems, with opportunities to guide automation, AI‑assisted workflows, and first‑of‑a‑kind

Qualifications

• BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years in instrumentation and controls design for heavy industrial plants.
• Experience with controls for turbines, feedwater, data displays, and DCS for nuclear plants.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high-level, complex programs for nuclear power projects.
• Direct technical decision-making within project teams for digital upgrades.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve instrumentation & controls issues.
• Prepare design input, diagrams, and schematics for drawings.
• Interface with vendors for materials and purchase specifications.
