Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is hiring an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to drive digital modernization on nuclear power projects, including PLC/DCS/HSI design and safety integration. You will lead technical decisions within a project team comprising engineers and designers and coordinate with vendors for system specifications.

This hybrid role emphasizes advanced design, problem solving, and collaboration to deliver robust control solutions for existing plants and new builds.

Qualifications

• A BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in instrumentation & controls design for heavy industrial plants.
• Experience as a firm/client liaison in a lead engineering role is desirable.
• PE license is valued but not required.
• Broad background in providing technical support to nuclear plant projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high level, complex programs for nuclear power projects.
• Direct technical decision making in a project team with engineers and designers.
• Perform Digital Systems Design Development – PLC, DCS, HSI and networked systems.
• Prepare and review design input, calculations, and schematics.
• Interface with vendors and review equipment purchase specifications.
