Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group in North Carolina is seeking a senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to lead design and digital upgrades for new and existing nuclear plants.

You will direct technical decisions in project teams, develop PLC/DCS/HSI solutions, review drawings, and coordinate with vendors, clients, and cross-functional engineers. This role emphasizes automation, AI-enabled workflows, and extensive experience in heavy industrial plant I&C design.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 12+ years in instrumentation and controls design for heavy industrial plants.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in a lead engineering role.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high-level, complex programs for nuclear power projects.
• Direct technical decision making in a project team environment.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve instrumentation & controls issues.
• Coordinate systems design to meet specs and client requirements.
• Prepare and review calculations for analog and digital controls.
• Interface with vendors and review equipment purchase specifications.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope.
