Job summary

HNTB’s Raleigh, NC office is seeking a Project Engineer - Team Lead to join our Hydraulics design team. You will produce design calculations, technical reports, plans and specs for assigned projects, working with the project manager on research, calculations and delivery.

Mentoring junior engineers and guiding the team are core parts of this role. We value strong project leadership, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and delivering high-quality results for North Carolina infrastructure projects,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

Plan and distribute discipline-specific work, and adhere to schedule and budget on projects.
Assist in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
Develop scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.
Oversee completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline; mentor team to objectives.
Coordinate technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level.
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Recruit, hire, develop and retain staff, including plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession; coordinate schedules and timecards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
