Job summary

STV, Inc. in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Hydraulics Senior Engineering Specialist to lead drainage design on transportation projects within the Transportation Group. The role requires coordinating a design team, guiding junior engineers, and delivering compliant, high-quality hydraulic solutions.

You will oversee sub-disciplines, coordinate with clients, and manage budgets while ensuring adherence to codes and professional standards. A PE license is preferred or obtainable within 6–12 months.

Qualifications

• Accredited Civil Engineering degree; master's degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Sub-Discipline Lead or Deputy Discipline Lead on AD projects.
• Plan, direct, and supervise a design team with manpower and budget.
• Lead engineers and designers toward technical excellence.
• Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analyses.
• Ensure design compliance with codes and seal when required.
• Prepare material/equipment specifications and coordinate subconsultants.
• Maintain professional affiliations to stay current with technologies.
• Help determine budgets and staffing for the defined scope.
• May assist with additional admin and technical duties.
• Perform other responsibilities as appropriate.
