Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC/R technician for our Jasper, AL location. You will oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of supermarket refrigeration units and related systems.

The role requires hands-on diagnostics, adherence to OSHA and EPA protocols, and leadership of field teams. AAS or technical HVAC/R training plus licensure and Walmart experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or Universal).
• HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• 1 year experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or Walmart store experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass MVR.
• Ability to read and speak English as required by FMCSA.

Responsibilities

• Oversees installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems and related ductwork.
• Leads diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues.
• Implements preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Manages rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and supermarket refrigeration units.
• Ensures OSHA standards and EPA refrigerant handling compliance.
• Leads field teams, mentors technicians, and coordinates service calls.
