Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Palm Bay, FL seeks an experienced HVAC/R Technician to install and maintain commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems across multiple facilities.

You will interpret plans, calibrate direct digital controls, and ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and EPA refrigerant handling protocols. The role involves diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with managers and external service providers as needed.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and/or experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or Universal) where required.
• Journeyman status may be required for HVAC-R work in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC and refrigeration systems and components per drawings and specs.
• Calibrate and configure low ambient systems and direct digital controls.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues; perform preventive maintenance.
• Mentor Apprentices and junior technicians on procedures and safety practices.
• Coordinate service calls and use scheduling tools to manage workload.
• Drive company vehicle in region and participate in on-call rotations.
