Job summary

Walmart Milton, FL is seeking an HVAC/R technician to install, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration and building systems. You will lead field teams, mentor apprentices, and ensure compliance with safety, codes, and EPA refrigerant handling.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, on-call readiness, and collaboration with managers to meet operational goals across multiple facilities within the region.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.

Responsibilities

• Installs, diagnoses, and repairs HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial settings.
• Leads field teams; mentors technicians and apprentices on procedures and safety.
• Performs inspections; ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA 608, and codes.
• Coordinates service calls; communicates with customers and manages escalations.
• Maintains company vehicles, parts inventory, and warranty/work orders.
