Job summary

The Ringling Museum of Art, a department of Florida State University, seeks an HVAC/R Technician to maintain and repair HVAC and chilled water loop systems on campus in Sarasota, FL. This full-time, lead-worker role supports the Facilities Building Maintenance Team and oversees daily work orders and projects.

You will troubleshoot HVAC equipment, monitor the Chilled Water Plant, and ensure energy-efficient operation while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or a relevant technical/vocational degree may substitute for experience.
• Valid Florida driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to hire.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in small spaces/heights.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs HVAC equipment.
• Monitors operation of computerized HVAC and chilled water plant systems.
• Maintains operational logs and makes system adjustments for energy efficiency.
• Troubleshoots and identifies chilled water pipe problems.
• Performs installs or repairs of HVAC equipment including compressors, condensers, and pumps; recharges refrigerant as needed.
• Inspects and maintains low pressure gas-fired boilers.
• Generates and responds to emails and work orders via the online system; updates progress daily.
• Assists Maintenance Supervisor in monitoring work orders and daily projects; travels campus by motorized vehicle.
• Assists with emergencies or special maintenance projects for museum operations.
