Job summary

The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, a department of Florida State University, seeks a skilled Facilities Technician to maintain and repair HVAC and chilled water loop systems on site in Sarasota, FL. This role supports the Ringling campus operations, including responding to work orders and coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant HVAC experience or a technical/vocational degree substitution, a valid Florida driver’s license, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years' experience; or a relevant Technical or vocational degree may substitute for experience.
• Valid Florida driver's license or ability to obtain one prior to hire.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in small spaces/heights.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs HVAC equipment.
• Monitors operation of the Chilled Water Plant.
• Maintains operational logs and adjusts systems for energy efficiency.
• Troubleshoots chilled water pipe problems.
• Installs or repairs heating/air conditioning equipment and recharges refrigerant.
• Inspects and maintains low pressure gas fired boilers.
• Generates and responds to emails/work orders via online system; updates progress daily.
• Assists Maintenance Supervisor in monitoring work orders and team projects.
