Job summary

The Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking an HVAC Operator to support building maintenance under the Facilities Supervisor. The role involves monitoring the chilled water plant, maintaining operation logs, and assisting with daily plant operations.

You will develop preventive maintenance programs, troubleshoot issues, and respond to emergencies, including after-hours calls. A high school diploma with two years of experience and a valid Florida driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years' experience.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in small spaces.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operation of the chilled water HVAC system and maintain logs; adjust controls for energy efficiency.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance for plant operation; troubleshoot pipe issues and perform repairs.
• Be on-call outside normal hours to monitor the chiller plant and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Generate and respond to emails and work orders; update the system daily.
• Perform general building maintenance tasks (pressure washing, painting, plumbing, filter changes) to support museum operations.
