Job summary

Community Partners in Action (CPA) seeks a Lead Human Services Worker for the Hartford Transitional House in Hartford, CT. This 2nd shift role (Thu-Mon, 4:00 PM–12:00 AM) handles supervision and program operations to support residents in a structured, safe environment.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma/GED plus 3 years in human services and at least 1 year of supervision. Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred; CT driver's license required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED or higher with three years in human services; residential experience preferred.
  • At least one year of experience supervising staff.
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) desired.
  • Valid CT driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and additional hours as needed.
  • Experience with justice-involved clients with substance abuse, mental health or other behavior issues.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of respect, empathy, belonging and eliminate bias in beliefs and systems.
  • Assists with orientation and training of new staff.
  • In the absence of the Residential Manager, assumes operational responsibilities including staff oversight.
  • Relieve shift staff for breaks; supervise resident activities and ensure safety.
  • Advocate for all participants and encourage program participation.
  • Mediates resident conflicts in a solution-focused manner.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with residents, staff and visitors.
  • Complete incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
