Job summary

Shaner Hotels is seeking a hands-on Chief Maintenance Engineer for Hotel Celare, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel in Cincinnati. You will own the hotel’s maintenance, repairs, and building systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability across facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of building systems and maintenance.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead a small team and work independently.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Trade certification and Marriott experience are a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and varied shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside the maintenance team.
• Handle daily repairs, troubleshooting, and emergency maintenance.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for guest rooms and hotel facilities.
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, mechanical, and building systems.
• Assign daily work, manage work orders, and inspect completed work.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire, health, safety, and building codes.
• Manage tools, equipment, supplies, and the Engineering budget.
• Train and support team members while maintaining hotel standards.
• Partner with other departments to ensure a safe and comfortable guest experience.
