Job Responsibilities

As a Lead Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the proper working order of all physical hotel assets and coordinating the activities of the Engineering staff.

Your Specific Duties Include:
  1. Review, analyze, and report on preventative maintenance results for key property areas including grounds, guest rooms, common areas, pools, equipment, and systems.
  2. Maintain preventative maintenance schedules for public spaces and guest rooms.
  3. Ensure proper inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
  4. Assist the General Manager in directing, training, and mentoring the Engineering staff in troubleshooting and repairs using Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Masonry, or other techniques.
  5. Coordinate work assignments and maintain records of work orders.
  6. Troubleshoot equipment, systems, and facilities; perform repairs such as painting, wallpapering, plumbing, electrical work, woodworking, concrete, and tile repairs.
  7. Perform preventative maintenance on guest rooms and equipment including laundry, HVAC, ice machines, spa equipment, fire safety systems, lawn sprinklers, and kitchen appliances.
  8. Maintain swimming pool and spa according to manufacturer specs and health regulations.
  9. Assist with outdoor seasonal work like lawn mowing and snow removal.
  10. Keep the engineering shop and work areas clean.
  11. Log readings from meters and gauges.
  12. Coordinate room status updates with Front Desk and Housekeeping.
  13. Maintain knowledge of Fire Alarms/Life Safety Systems and handle emergencies.
  14. Assist with moving furniture and unloading supplies as needed.
Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • 6 months to 1 year of related experience in engineering or maintenance.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
