Summary: The Lead Field Service Engineer - Drives, under general guidance and minimal supervision, performs a wide range of engineering tasks ensuring proper installation, service, and commissioning of products and services. Provides technical support during installation and commissioning, along with maintenance, emergency breakdown support, and remote troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GE drive systems at site locations.
• Diagnose problems through troubleshooting activities and implement corrective actions.
• Develop documentation such as commissioning procedures, maintenance procedures, and logs.
• Work independently and lead small teams.
• Manage on-site projects and resolve customer issues to ensure satisfaction.
• Develop and deliver training to customers on drive operations.
• Coordinate opportunities to serve customers with various teams including service, parts, sales, and engineering.
• Advise customers on upgrades, parts, and services to enhance productivity and promote GE products.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities and inspections.
• Support engineering teams on modernization projects and bidding processes.
• Provide on-call support and complete administrative reports.
• Perform work onboard vessels following safety guidelines; may require extended hours and travel.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or Associate Degree with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years of field service and/or commissioning experience.

Eligibility:

• Willingness to travel up to 85% on short notice.
• Physical fitness to board vessels offshore.
• Ability to pass HUET and offshore survival courses.

Preferred Characteristics:

• At least 3 years of experience with GE Drive systems like MV7000, SD7000, MV3000.
• Ability to handle complex assignments independently.
• Expertise in installation and commissioning tasks.
