Job summary

PACS Group is seeking an experienced hospital/long-term care cook to manage the kitchen in the dietary supervisor's absence. You will prepare meals, follow menus, and ensure safety, portion control, and proper diets for residents in a respectful, clean environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year of cooking experience in healthcare, and a current ServSafe certificate. You will work collaboratively with dietary staff to deliver nutritious meals daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Should have experience as a cook in a hospital or long term care facility for not less than one year.
• ServSafe Certificate required; must maintain current status.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and follow menus and portion controls.
• Prepare special diets accurately and record food temperatures.
• Assist with serving meals and supervising dietary staff in supervisor's absence.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator and/or Director of Nurses.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and food presentation is appealing.
