Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a dedicated cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The role requires preparing diverse meals for residents in a hospital/long-term care setting, following menus and portion controls, and ensuring a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

You will also record temperatures, assist with meal serving, and train dietary staff as needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and proven cook experience in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Must have ServSafe Certificate.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Ability to prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities; follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Record food temperatures for meals and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Assist with serving the different meals and supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and maintain sanitation buckets and equipment.
• Report resident care concerns and potential issues to Administrator and/or Director of Nurses.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff and present food in an appealing way.
