Job summary

Pacific Villas Post Acute is seeking a dependable cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will supervise and report to the Dietary Supervisor, ensuring safe, sanitary food preparation.

Responsibilities include preparing meals for large quantities, following menus, maintaining temperatures, and training dietary staff. A ServSafe certificate and hospital/long-term care cooking experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience requirements: high school diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Experience as a cook in hospital or long-term care is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures; prepare pureed foods; cooperate with all departments.
